José first started umpiring in 1991 for the Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation. In 2001 he became head of the SBSF umpire commission. In 2003 he started umpiring internationally in Germany and Austria and worked in CEB tournaments in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2011. He graduated form Jim Evans Professional Academy of Umpiring in 2006.
Wil is a small town in the canton of St. Gallen in the eastern part of Switzerland. In 1984, Wil was awarded the Wakker Prize for the development and preservation of its architectural heritage.
Zurich airport is only a 35 minute train ride from Wil. Both, hotel and dormitory are situated in the middle of Wil’s old town and next to restaurants, bars and shopping facilities. The baseball field is only 800 meters from the hotel.

There’s a train station located in the sublevel of Zurich airport. Tickets can be purchased at vending machines or at ticket boots at the airport. A one way ticket to Wil is about 8 EUR. Trains depart from track 2 twice per hour at xx:22 and xx:52.
In Wil it’s a 10 minute walk to the hotel or 3 stops by bus with either 701, 703, 705 or 722. Get off at “Viehmarktplatz”. The ticket can be purchased on the bus for about 2 EUR.
