In Indochina, Araceae is quite big family on the Monocotyledone.
According to Gagnepain (1942), this family in Indochina with 25 genera
(including Acorus) and 125 species were described. Among them, 22 species of 14 genera, and 39 species of 18 genera were recorded in Cambodia and Laos respectively. Since Gagnepain’s treatment, very few publications on Araceae in Cambodia and Laos have been available. In “A checklist of the vascular plants of Lao PDR”, M. Newman et al. (2007) recorded 83 species belonging to 24 genera (including some introduced species) in Laos. From fieldwork trips, 9 new species records, 4 new species in Cambodia and 5 new species records, 4 new species in Laos have been discovered by the author. In the poster, distribution map and the images of the species are presented.
