Section 1: Bible Study, The Meaning of Night:

Comments by Floyd – The Meaning of “The Night”:

Hello this is Floyd,

Have you ever wondered about the various descriptions of the Day and parts of the Day that are referred to within the End Time Events revealed in the Scriptures? By this I am referring to the various Prophetic Texts in the Bible that refer to the parts of the Day such as: “the Evening”, “the Night”, “the Morning”, “the Day”, or even “the Hour”. In this Bible Study we will focus on explaining “The Night”, but we will also see the greatness of the coming Glory of the Morning.

But, for us to understand the Night we must consider the Darkness, the Day, the Light, etc. As an example of this, let us consider the two back to back parables that are given to us in Zechariah 14:6-7. The first parable in Zechariah 14:6 is speaking of a Day in which there will be no Light. Yet we know that in Malachi 4:2 the Bible says that the Sun of Righteousness will rise in the Morning. Is not the Morning of the Day? And in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 Paul says that the Righteous are of the Day and the Light and they are not of the Night and the Darkness. So if those of the Lord are of the Light and the Day, then how can the Day have no Light? And who are the glorious ones that lose their Light such that they will diminish? Why is their Light completely put out?

Zechariah 14:6 6It shall come to pass in that Day that there will be no Light; the glorious ones will diminish. (The complacent will not receive the right to shine with His Light of the Morning Glory.)

The second parable in Zechariah 14:7 reveals that there is a Day that is neither Day nor Night, but it will be that in the Evening Time it will be caused by the Father that Light will be caused to be available. What is not of the Day but is of the Day? And what is a Day that is not of the Night? And, what is a Day that is a “One” Day? And why is that Day known only to the Father? And what Night is not of the Day?

Zechariah 14:7 7It shall be One Day which is known to the Lord (The Father) Neither Day nor Night. But at Evening time it shall happen that it will be Light.

The Lord reveals to us in John 9:4-5, Luke 17:34, and in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3, that there is a huge event that is going to occur that is referred to as “The Night”. Take note that the Lord says that when it occurs, that the Light (It is referring to the Lord and to the Sacred Words of God) will be removed from being accessible by those of the world. And in He adds that those who are of the world will not be able to work when that Night comes. He even adds that He will not be able to do any work for those of the world (For example He will not be able to intercede on their behalf with the Father God at the Throne. And it means that none of the Righteous Angels, and not even the Righteous Elect who are still on the earth, will be able to help these who are of the world in that Night.). To this we add that in Luke 17:34-35, the Lord makes it clear that the Separation Judgment will occur in that “Night”. If we consider this carefully I believe that we can clearly see that this is actually speaking of the same event that is described in John 9:4-5. They both involve a separation judgment.

John 9:4-5 4I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is Day; the Night is coming when no one can work (Do you begin to see a Riddle? Is not the Night a part of a Day?). 5As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” (This means His Great Reward is being lost by many.)

Luke 17:34-35 34I “I tell you, in that Night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. 35Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left.” (See Revelation 6:12-17)

Before we begin to look at this subject of “the Night” in greater detail within this Bible Study, let me try to clarify for us the basic various uses of “night” as utilized within the Bible. I believe that if we grasp this it will be easier to discern the very important “the Night” that we need to identify and realize that we should have a great fear of God regarding it, no matter if we have the knowledge of truth or not. (Again I would like to clarify, the knowledge of Truth is having knowledge of His set apart Holy Words and the Works of God that He does through the speaking and doing of the Ways of these Words.)

The Bible uses the description of the term “Night” in three basic ways:

  1. CLOCK NIGHT. The term the Night is used as in the clock of the Night of our normal Day. That means it can describe the period of time from sundown until sunrise. In this context it can also be used to describe the period of time from midnight until sunrise.

  2. THE NIGHT OF HIS DAY. The term the Night is used to describe the years of the Day of the Lord that are referred to as the Night of the Day of the Lord. I have explained in many writings that the Bible reveals that in the Book of Revelation a Time is a period of 7 years. And in the Bible it uses the description of the Day of the Lord being “a Time, a Times, and a Half-Time”. Thus, it means that the Day of the Lord will be 24.5 years in length. It will have an Evening of 7 years (A Time). It will have a Night of 7 years and a Morning of 7 years (A Times). And, it will have a Day (Afternoon) of only 3.5 years, for the Lord says in the Bible that the Father will cut the Day of the Lord short (Short by 3.5 years). Thus, we can see that the events of the Night and the Morning are woven together for purposes that the Bible explains (And, I would like to add that not all of the reasons have completely been clarified by the Lord.) Because the Bible reveals that the Evening of the Day of the Lord begins with the Father causing the receipt of the knowledge of Truth - meaning the Evening of the Day of the Lord begins with the entrance of Light – the entrance of the Father’s Words that gives Light – we can understand that the Evening of the Day of the Lord began in April 2003 when He caused a messenger to receive His Words just as He foretold in Malachi 3:1 and in Hebrews 10:25-27. Therefore, since the Bible reveals that the Evening is 7 years in length, we can understand that the Midnight, the beginning of the Night of the Day of the Lord, would come in April 2010. And indeed the Lord gave Prophetic Words that the Night of the Day of the Lord came at Passover 2010, right at the end of March.

  3. THE NIGHT OF THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT IN THE WORLD. And finally, the term the Night is used to describe the Appointed Times when the Father causes the access to the Lord to be absent from those of the world who have not set themselves apart from the world by receiving the Knowledge of His Words – the knowledge of Truth. The Night is when the Father removes the covering of His Word from a person, a people, a city or nation(s), and thus, at the same time this action releases the devil to come into and test the uncovered people. It is then that the people will feel the presence of the lure of satan and they will have to make a decision of the heart as to whether they do Good or turn and do evil. If they choose to do evil and continue in it, they come against God and it becomes their Appointed Time of their Separation Judgment. Remember that in this Day of the Lord we are in the 13th year of the Father causing the message of His Words to be called out, and we are in the 13th year of the testimony of God that is recorded in Revelation 18:1-4, Isaiah 21:1-12, and also in Daniel 7:9-12, that the Appointed Time of the complete and utter destruction of the 5th beast kingdom and the harlot is cast in stone from the moment that the Day of the Lord began with His causing the Holy Words of God to be received on earth. The Bible bears witness that the Father does not bring the Night unless the accused have had ample opportunity to turn from evil and choose to do Good. For example, the disciples walked with Jesus for nearly 3.5 years. And consider that during that time Judas Iscariot served as the treasurer. The Bible reveals that Judas Iscariot commonly stole from the offerings given to support the work of the ministry of the Lord Jesus, his King and Savior. Clearly the Living Words of God that Jesus was sent into the world to bear witness to and that are the Gift of the Inheritance of all those who will inherit the Kingdom of God, were of no value to the eyes of Judas Iscariot. He valued the position he could have and he valued financial profits that he could steal freely from the work of Jesus and the Father. And on the fateful night of the Passover Meal, Judas Iscariot would bring Night on the many leaders of Israel and darkness to the nation. But, the Father knows the time of our “Night”, the time when He has had enough of our sins and abominations, and He sends forth His Spirit and He judges the people. He did this during the Evening of the Passover meal that the Lord shared with His disciples before the events of the Cross. The apostle John records in John 13:21 that the Spirit of God troubled the Lord and caused Him to testify to those present that there was one amongst these who are gathered for the Passover Supper in the Upper Room who would betray Him. Yet, even after the Lord revealed this with clarity to all those present at the meal, inclusive of Judas Iscariot, it was that Judas Iscariot, after receiving the bread dipped in the bone broth by the Lord and after eating the bread, the Scriptures record that satan entered him. When Jesus handed Judas the bread He was doing the Ways of the Words and removing the covering of protection over Judas so that he could be tested by satan. The Living Word would not protect him from the temptations of satan. The Lord had been doing the Ways of the Words over the disciples to keep them, even Judas until that day. And despite the warning that Judas had heard from the Lord in John 13:21 that one of the disciples would betray Him, Judas succumbs to his own wisdom and his own desires, and when the Lord even tells him that what you do, do quickly, he gets up and goes out to do evil. When the Lord said that to him, it should have caused him to put two plus two together and realize that he was going against the Will of God. But, he does not, and when he gets up and goes out to finalize the betrayal of Christ, the Bible explains in John 13:30 that it the “Night” had come, yet it was still early in the Evening. The Lord explains in John 9:4-5 that the Night comes on the world in this Day when the Father removes Him from their access, and allows the devil to test them to see that if they see evil will they follow after it, or will they choose to do what they know is the Right Way. And when they see the darkness of evil will they turn and be obedient to seek to receive the entrance of His Words that gives the Light into them. The Separation Judgment is like this for the Lord says in John 12:48 that our Judgment will be by His Words. The Night for the leaders (Shepherds, rabbis, government leaders, military leaders, educators, religious teachers, prophets, etc.), will be earlier than the masses. The Lord never changes His Ways, and we can see this process of the judgment revealed in Parable of the Supper that is given in Luke 14:15-24.

The Night comes like a Thief, but also comes simultaneous with the Morning of His Very Great Reward:

In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3 Paul is revealing that the Lord speaks of the destruction that will come upon the people in the Night when the Father takes His Son away from those of the world. When we remove the Light we of course get Darkness. What people do not seem to grasp is that when the Father suddenly takes the Lord and the Words of God from out of the world, it means that He has turned the people over to the works of satan so that they might experience the great troubles of the evil and become zealous to find a way to get back to the Light.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-3 1But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2For you yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3For when they say, “Peace and safety!” (On 25 September 2015, the 193-Member United Nations General Assembly formally adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that fulfilled this Prophetic Word revealed by Paul over 1900 years ago.) Then sudden destruction (The plagues of desolation that comes forth from God.) comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

Perhaps we can grasp the seriousness of the Biblical meaning of “the Night” in Psalm 77:2. This is a Prophetic Psalm of Asaph that was set to the sound of the harp. That means it is a Psalm related to works of those who are given to be of the Appointed Time for overcoming the Beast Kingdom. In Psalm 77 it is revealing that in those days, in the Appointed Time of Night, if one enters the Night instead of the Morning, it shall be that they will have their hand stretched out pleading without ceasing for God to hear them and to help them from their troubles, but they will not be answered. And take note that their soul was not able to be comforted. The Spirit of Truth is not allowed to enter and comfort those who are separated with those who are of the world, and thus are set apart from God (John 14:15-17). The point is that in the time of “the Night” there will be no access to the Lord, and prayers will not be answered.

Psalm 77:2 In the Day of my Trouble (See Proverbs 1:24-33) I sought the Lord; my hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; my soul refused to be comforted.

We also need to remember that the Lord does not change His Ways (Malachi 3:6). Therefore, we can look back to history of when the Lord warned the people of their destruction that will come in the Night when the Father would cause the Lord to be absent from hearing the cries of His rebellious people. We see this in the Lord’s warning to Judah in Jeremiah 14:8. Jeremiah warns that in the Night the Lord will turn aside.

Jeremiah 14:8 O the Hope of Israel, his Savior in Time of Trouble, why should You be like a stranger in the land, and like a traveler who turns aside to tarry for a night?

The Lord has given several Prophetic Words and Prophetic Visions in the last two weeks that make it clear that the dreadful Night of Darkness, called in the Bible as “The Night”, is coming upon the earth. I believe that most people do not understand what the Lord means by “The Night”. The basic warning that we should all be concerned about is the warning of the Night that is found in Isaiah 21:10-12. The Prophet Isaiah records that the Lord makes an impassioned plea to the Prophet, calling him watchman. The Lord asks of him to explain what he is seeing about “the Night” in the visions that he is being shown. And the Lord does not ask Isaiah just once, he asks him in repetition. And Isaiah explains something very interesting in verse 10. He reveals that this is a vision of the time of the harvest of souls when they are being judged by the Words of God that are the grain produced by the seed planted by the Lord.

We should be able to understand this if we remember the Lord’s warning that the Separation Judgment that comes in the Day of the Lord will be based upon the Words of God that Jesus had come into the world to bear witness to (John 12:48). That is made clear in Deuteronomy 18:18-19 and John 12:48. The Lord Jesus tells us very clearly in John 12:48 that the judgment of the last days will be according to the Words that he gave His blood to bear witness to. The Father God clarifies in Deuteronomy 18:19 that in the Appointed Times when He sends the Messiah, that He will cause His Words to be testified to, and all who will not hear the message of the Words being testified to will be held in account in those Days.

Isaiah 21:10-12 10Oh, my threshing and the grain of my floor! That which I have heard from the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared to you. 11The burden against Dumah He calls to me out of Seir: “Watchman, what of the Night? Watchman, what of the Night?” 12The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire! Return! Come back!”

Zechariah 14:6-7 6It shall come to pass in that Day that there will be no Light; the glorious ones will diminish. 7It shall be one Day which is known to the Lord (The Father) Neither Day nor Night. But at Evening time it shall happen that it will be Light.

John 12:48 48He who rejects Me, and does not receive My Words, has that which judges him—the Word that I have spoken will judge him in the last Day;” (In this Hour of Trial we will be judged on whether we have obeyed His instruction to receive the knowledge of the Words of God that He has born testimony to and has revealed/exampled to us many Good Works of God that His Words enable.)

Deuteronomy 18:18-19 18I will raise up for them a Prophet (Jesus, the Christ.) from among their brethren, and will put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19And it shall be that whoever will not hear My Words, which He speaks in My Name, I will require it of Him.” (This is confirmation of John 12:48, 17:17.)

Matthew 12:36-37 36“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak; they will give account of it in the Day of Judgment. 37For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” (We are required to receive the knowledge of God’s Words when He causes them to be received on the earth, as it is in this Day (See Deuteronomy 18:18-19, John 8:43-47, Hebrews 10:26-27).)

And I would like to point out that in the Prayer of the Lord to the Father that Jesus made in the Garden of Gethsemane, that is recorded in John 17, the Lord makes it poignantly clear that He desired that the Father would indeed make it a requirement for us to be bound from satan by receiving the knowledge of His Words. The basic meaning of “Sanctify” is to be bound by what is Holy. We know from 1 John 5:7 that in the Kingdom of Heaven, the testimony is of the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and that these three are One. In another section of this Bible Study we will review the meaning of “One”. But we can consider it to be the most powerful expression of God and His Works. Remember also the Lord makes it known in John 20:9-23 that when we receive His Spirit that we are able to understand His Words and that whatever we bind on earth is bound in Heaven. If we think about it, this means that we can ask the Lord in the Ways of doing His Words, to bind our household from satan, and the Lord will do it. If we listen carefully to that, and we consider His instructions in John 5:24, we should grow in, and walk in, the Way of Faith, that our household will be bound in Heaven and not only set apart from the world, but it will pass through these judgments that are at hand and additionally know that they will be guided into eternal Life.

John 17:17-19 17Sanctify them by Your Truth. Your Word is Truth. 18As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the Truth.”

John 17:6-19 6“I have manifested Your Name (Jesus had previously made it known, as is recorded in John 6:29 that God’s Name means to do the Works for the Kingdom so that the people would all be given the right to hear and believe in the unbreakable Words of God that are spoken forth and shown by His Son, is available to be heard by those who would hear Him. Jesus said in John 6:29 that the work of the Father is that we believe in Him Whom He sent.) to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your Word (Remember that is revealed with clarity in Luke 24:44-45 that the disciples did not actually discern the Words of God until after the Lord returned from the Father and appeared to them after the Resurrection.). 7Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8For I have given to them the Words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. 9“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your Name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14I have given them Your Word (The disciples did not know the Words of God yet, as is testified to in Luke 24:44-45 and John 20:19-23. However, Jesus had done the Ways of the Words for them, and because of that He is assured that they will receive the Words in the appointed time, such as when He washed their feet with a towel around His Waist as a belt of Truth. When He put the belt around His waist and did that, He was revealing to the Father the work that He desired to have done. The belt is symbolic of the food of the Kingdom that we desire to eat. Doing Good for others is food of the Kingdom that people of the world have no knowledge of (John 4:32). When you are walking humbly in the Ways of His Words and doing Good for others, the Father fills you without asking. That is the heart and soul of the meanings of John 15:7 and 1 John 5:14-15. We need to grasp the point that when we walk in His Ways and we walk in the Ways of His Words, when we ask the Father to bind someone by the Ways of doing His Words, they will be kept by the Kingdom and they will have the opportunity to receive the knowledge of Truth. Consider the Lord’s command in Joel 2:12-20 and the people coming off the porch and pleading before God for Him to save these people who were not taught the Knowledge of Truth. God does hear them just like He heard the men of Nineveh, and the Father does drive the Northern Army far away from those people.); and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”
