HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Location: Waldorf, Maryland area

Reports to: General Manager

Supervises: None

HR MANAGER JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Human Resources Manager is a strong, decisive, results oriented leader who can develop and manage relationships across the company and with a wide variety of partners based on trust, teamwork and knowledge. The Human Resources Manager is a Business Partner to the General Manager and will manage all core HR functions as well as strategic initiatives.


HR MANAGER ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Function as a Strategic Business Partner to the General Manager by supporting strategic HR initiatives.

  • Manage compensation and incentive program; perform yearly compensation analysis review. Study short & long term incentives plans in accordance with best practices. Make recommendations on compensation realignment based on merit, performance ratings and to support strategic roles.

  • Create and manage an effective succession planning program for all areas of operations and develop career path plan to support HIPO’s and critical SBU’s.

  • Create and manage Training and Development initiatives to support HIPO’s, career path roadmap and technical functions.

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting; create and manage recruiting/on-boarding initiatives in line with best practices. Is an effective recruiter who can provide full support in interviewing for blue collar and white collar workers, including technical labor and executive roles.

  • Develop and maintain affirmative action program by setting effective objectives and by managing all aspects of compliance. File EEO-1, VETS100, OSHA reports annually.

  • Manage conflict resolution; disciplinary actions, terminations, exit interviews, employment offers/hiring. Manage relocation and other related activities.


HR MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prepare and maintain headcount reports and maintain company organization charts and employee directory.

  • Assist in evaluation of results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to affect continual improvement.

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

  • Contract negotiations; health insurance plan, company sponsored events, etc.

  • Administers key human resources plans and procedures; Employee Handbook, HR Policies/Procedures, etc.

  • Oversee compliance with FMLA, W/C, ADA.


QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES

  • Strong P.C. skills

  • Knowledge of HRIS systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills & excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and

  • Ability to nurture relationships and gain the respect of employees at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to manage all core HR-related activities.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent business acumen

  • Self-starter and driven to achieve challenging objectives and maintain the highest quality standard.

  • Ability to solve problems and sound judgment with little support.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources.

  • 5-7 years experience in Human Resources Management role required.

  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred but not necessary.

  • Experience with emphasis on Recruiting, Training & Development highly preferred.

  • Outstanding Leadership qualities

  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment

  • Experience working in a production environment a plus
