Flowers: Many small, terminal golden-yellow disk flowers that may or may not have white ray flowers. When the plant does have ray flowers, the ray petals fold tightly down against the hypanthium (calyx tube) at night, leaving only the round disk buttons visible from above during the mornings. Ray flowers also disappear on individual flowers as they start to senesce.
Culture: Full sun and well-drained soil. Tolerates either dry or wet soil once established. Grows best in cool climates but will tolerate some heat. Does not flower during the heat of summer. Self-sows.
Uses: Border, herb garden. Nice as a filler when planted among larger flowers.
