Capsicum, Tomato and Cheese

Pastry Twists


1 can (400g) of diced tomatoes

1 red capsicum finely chopped

2 Garlic cloves

2 Tbls olive oil

3 Sprigs thyme

100g Tasty cheese

6 sheets of puff pastry

Olive oil for greasing baking trays

Salt and pepper

Large knife
Chopping board
2 Baking trays
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons

What to do

  • Finely chop garlic and capsicum.

  • Heat 1 Tbls oil in frying pan and add chopped garlic and capsicum. Sauté ( Fry) for 1 minute on medium heat.

  • Add diced tomatoes to pan. Pull leaves of thyme stem and wash add to pan with salt and pepper.

  • Cook mixture uncovered for 5-7 minutes. Take of heat and cool.

  • Cut puff pastry into strips approximately 2cm thick.

  • Twist two strips together by crossing them back and forth to make a twist.

  • Brush each pastry twist with capsicum and tomato sauce.

  • Sprinkle with grated tasty cheese and bake on a flat tray till puffed and golden.
